Houston Wedding Photography: Lauren & Griff

Lauren and Griff were such a fun couple to work with! We really enjoyed shooting their engagement session on a sail boat and we especially loved being a part of their wedding day. Read below to see what the bride has to say about how she and Griff met, how he proposed, and a little about their wedding day!

“How we met: Griff and I met sailing out in Galveston Bay 4th of July weekend 2011. We since have gotten certified as sailors together and enjoy sailing throughout the year with each other and our friends. We chose the marina we sail out of, Sackett Sailing, as the location for our engagement shots! We also used some of our favorite spots we like to visit around Houston as our table names at the wedding. We sat at the appropriately named “Sackett Sailing” table, since that’s where it all began!

“How he proposed: Griff took me to Old Town Tree Farm in Spring to pick out my first real Christmas tree last December. Even though it was about 80 degrees, not very Christmas like weather, we had a blast picking out our first tree together. Griff proposed in front of it back at home. We have a picture of him down on one knee popping the question with my dog Duke standing by his side, it looks like they were both asking me!!

“Fun facts about Lauren & Griff: Griff and I are both huge sports fans and between the two of us follow the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, the Ravens and the Texans, Ohio State football and Kentucky basketball. I’ve had season tickets for UH football for five seasons now, we actually had one of our first dates at a game. We both enjoy working out, Griff is into cross fit and Krav Maga and I am currently training for a sprint triathlon. We also love to travel and are taking our first international trip together – our honeymoon to Bora Bora! I also volunteer with GRRH (Golden Retriever Rescue of Houston) where I adopted our two dogs from. While they couldn’t attend the ceremony or reception, Patrick and Duke were a part of our wedding day. We had friends bring them to our first look spot to take pictures with us. I also had a customized wedding cake topper made with us and the dogs on it!”
